I really don't have a concrete answer for you, but as of yet this hasnt happend. Unless they are generating mac addresses from the same database, there would be no way to avoid this. I suppose it's possible for a mag to be given the same mac as a avov from factory. Keep in mind dreamlinks and avovs and all those companies use similar mac addresses to mags. At that time, that customer could create a new one.īut like I said I haven't seen this happen, and it could be a real pain. It's possible they could forward it do their dealer, who will end up forwarding it again and again until it reaches someone that can access the stalker database and remove the other mac. So if you had my mac address and were using voodoo, and I was using ipguys, we'd never know.įinally, I suppose another option is to take a picture of your mag mac address, and send it to your reseller. The answer is yes, of course.Īnother thing is, even if 2 people had the same mac, they would only run into problems if BOTH of them try the same service. I've seen first hand quite a few people asking "I have a box now, can I change my mac?". I know a lot of guys that have used say Ipguys with kodi to test the channel lineup without buying a new box, and then a week later go and buy the box. That alone encourages people to pick up a set top box. Bottom line is, Kodi doesn't work well for IPTV. Most of the people that use kodi with stalker PVR client only do so for a very short time (maybe their guide doesnt work, or maybe they are missing out on videos on demand, timeshifting etc). I feel like most people that buy stalker subscriptions desire one thing, a "cable company" like interface. I haven't actually seen this happen yet though. If a mac address was used, you're right, the mag would no longer work. I guess there are a couple outcomes to this. That's a very good question, and that has popped in my head as well. In contrast to video over the public Internet, with IPTV deployments, network security and performance are tightly managed to ensure a superior entertainment experience, resulting in a compelling business environment for content providers, advertisers and customers alike.īe polite to others and contribute to the conversation.
